Little Rock’s Historic Villa Marre Sold for $480,000

1 min read

The historic Villa Marre in downtown Little Rock is once again hosting soirees after a $480,000 sale brought in a new owner.

RWL Investments LLC, led by Ron Lazenby, bought the landmark house at 1321 Scott St. in late December with a two-fold use in mind. The first floor is available for events, and the upstairs serves as office space for Lazenby’s real estate investing business.

Michelle Ibsen and Grady Trimble sold the 4,847-SF residence to Lazenby. They bought the property for $233,000 in July 2002 from the Quapaw Quarter Association.

"The Villa was very successful as a reception center when the Quapaw Quarter owned it," said Charles Marratt of Little Rock’s CM Construction Inc. "I had my wedding reception there and have been to countless events there."

The home became a restoration showpiece after James Strawn Jr. returned the property to its former glory and donated it to the Quapaw Quarter Association in 1980.
