Lofty Labs Teams With AmazonLock Icon

2 min read

Lofty Labs of Fayetteville, a web development consulting company, has become a certified consultant for Amazon Web Services.

That’s the cloud platform of internet behemoth Amazon.

Casey Kinsey, the president and founder of Lofty Labs, said an executive with AWS contacted him about holding an event in July to help introduce Amazon’s services to local companies in northwest Arkansas.

AWS already has a similar meet-and-greet scheduled July 27 in Little Rock, Kinsey said.

“It’s still very preliminary, but we at Lofty Labs are helping them have an event,” Kinsey said. “It’s kind of an invite-some-folks-in happy hour. Amazon Web Services is really planning a big push in Arkansas in the next couple of months.”

Kinsey said AWS offers outside server and data center infrastructure so companies can avoid the cost and hassle of on-site maintenance.

Kinsey said such services allow companies to modernize their infrastructure with a one-time fee and avoid the continuing cost of things such as updating outdated equipment and replacing broken equipment.

“It’s a big business for them,” Kinsey said. “All of Netflix goes through AWS. I know they’re going to be coming here and presenting opportunities for Arkansas businesses to get rid of their physical data center infrastructure and move that into the cloud. There are a lot of benefits to moving to the cloud.”

The benefits are also good for Kinsey and Lofty Labs. As a certified consultant, Lofty Labs is the “boots on the ground” to help companies transition to a new system.

“We stand to benefit from it tremendously as well,” Kinsey said. “Companies need help from people like us.”
