Brides in central Arkansas can feel like royalty when they get married at the Castle on Stagecoach, a new events venue in Little Rock.
The outdoor venue, at 6601 Stagecoach Road, is available for weddings and corporate events. It features 80 acres, a swimming pool, a bridal cottage and groom’s quarters and has space for at least 1,000 guests.
"We provide the space to have a marvelous time," said Walter Rognrud, son of the property owner, who still lives in the castle.
Rognrud and business partner Kevin Blazer opened the castle for events because Blazer realized there weren’t many venue options in central Arkansas.
"The castle is a very unique place," Blazer said. "We’re a venue that’s everything from farm to royal … [I]t depends on what a bride wants."
To book a wedding, the cost is $3,000 for the entire day, and Rognrud and Blazer are available to help acquire party rentals and other services. A list of preferred vendors that they’ve worked with is available on the website.
Blazer owns the Little Rock Horse & Carriage Co., and his horses graze the property and are available for events.
Since the Castle on Stagecoach opened in October, Rognrud said, it has drawn a lot of interest and events have been confirmed.
Though the business hosts only weddings and corporate events, Rognrud said, it is looking at other options, including birthday parties, tailgate parties and reunions.
He said he and Blazer also have had calls about photo shoots for advertising, weddings and proms, but for now, the venue is open only to those who rent it.
"It’s always been a photography magnet," he said. "But [we think] it takes away from those who rent it. We want to keep it exclusive."
