Michael Manley has been named the chancellor’s chief of staff at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences of Little Rock.

Previously, Manley was the director of clinical services at the UAMS Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville where he developed partnerships for graduate education and clinical and research development.

Dr. Joe Thompson of the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement ()

Dr. Joe Thompson will serve on the panel of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Health Services Research for AcademyHealth of Washington, D.C., an association for health services researchers and health care policymakers.

Thompson, who has served as state surgeon general during both the Huckabee and Beebe administrations, is currently CEO and president of the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement.

Dr. Jeffrey Holt will join Unity Health in Searcy to work as a cardiologist. Holt is board-certified and has held fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology. Holt has practiced cardiology for 12 years in Shreveport.

Dr. Brian Bell, vice president and chief medical officer of Arkansas Hospice of North Little Rock, has been honored as a fellow of the American Academy of Hospice & Palliative Medicine. Bell is a graduate of UAMS and has worked in hospice since 2006. He has also worked as the palliative care medical director for Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
