A new route for the 16th annual Little Rock Marathon means some last-minute hustle for contractors.
Mile marker 5 of the March 3-4 event is on Shall Avenue, south of the Heifer International headquarters.
The one-block stretch of patchworked roadway is an anthill of redevelopment activity with the $19.8 million eStem elementary school on the north end and the $7 million Paint Factory on the south end.
“We have our paving guys ready to roll on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday,” said Jonathan Shively, president of Little Rock’s Central Construction Group, general contractor on the Paint Factory project.
We’re told the Cromwell Firm should start moving into ground-floor space in the former Sterling Paint building at 1300 E. Sixth St. by mid-March.
