Marquita Little Numan has been appointed president and CEO of the Urban League of Arkansas in Little Rock, which she will lead in its efforts to advance and obtain equal opportunities for all citizens.
Numan most recently worked as health policy director for Arkansas Advocates for Children & Families. Before that she was director of policy and planning for the Arkansas Department of Human Services and program evaluation consultant for the Arkansas Minority Health Commission. “I look forward to working with the Urban League on implementing new ideas and programs to extend our reach and make an even greater impact across the state, ” Numan said.
Numan has a master’s degree in public service from the Clinton School of Public Service and a Bachelor of Arts from Hendrix College. She served with the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in Johannesburg, co-founded the Little Rock chapter of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network, and completed the Council of State Government’s Toll Fellowship and Child Health Leadership Network programs. She is a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas and a council member of the Arkansas Children’s Health Advisory Council and has served on the board of the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance.
