Martha Miller previously served as the deputy director of the Department of Arkansas Heritage Museums.
Martha Miller will not continue as director of the Department of Arkansas Heritage under Gov.-elect Asa Hutchinson.
Miller informed her staff Monday afternoon that she was contacted by Hutchinson’s chief of staff, Michael Lamoureux, and told of the decision.
“I have committed to Gov.-elect Hutchinson and his transition team that I will work with the new administration to make this change as seamless as I can,” Miller said in the letter to staff. “My two years as your director and the year prior to that as deputy director for museums have been some of the most fulfilling years of my lifetime and career.”
This week, Hutchinson has also announced outgoing state Rep. Allen Kerr as the new insurance commissioner, and the retainment of Sheila Sharp as director of the Department of Community Correction. The governor-elect has also said he will make a change at the state Securities Department, replacing Heath Abshure.
