Mary Gunter Takes Interim Leadership Role at Arkansas Tech (Movers & Shakers)

Mary B. Gunter, a member of the faculty at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville since 1998 and dean of the Graduate College since 2009 and of the College of Education since 2015, took office as interim chief of staff in the office of the president effective Jan. 2.

While Gunter is acting as chief of staff, Linda Bean will serve as interim dean for the College of Education and Jeff Robertson will be interim dean for the Graduate College. Robertson will continue as dean of the College of Natural & Health Sciences.


Kathleen Lawson, executive director of Economics Arkansas in Little Rock, and Steve Rice, entrepreneurship instructor for the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences & the Arts in Hot Springs, have been elected to the board of directors of the Arkansas Economic Acceleration Foundation.

AEAF is a nonprofit established in 1999 as an affiliate of Arkansas Capital Corp. in Little Rock.
