Mary Jean Bradley Named New Education Dean at A-State (Movers & Shakers)

1 min read

Mary Jane Bradley has been named dean of the College of Education & Behavioral Science at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, effective July 1. A faculty member since 1987, Bradley has been serving as director of Professional Education Programs and professional licensure officer within the college.

Marty Spears has been named provost of Harding University at Searcy, and Julie Hixson-Wallace has been named vice provost for accreditation. Both appointments will take effect June 1.

Spears will succeed Larry Long, who is retiring as provost after 40 years as a member of the Harding administration and faculty. Spears, a Harding alumnus, joined the Harding faculty in 2000 as an associate professor of mathematics and has been associate provost for undergraduate studies since 2011.

In a restructuring of the provost’s office, Hixson-Wallace will assume the responsibility of coordinating all accreditation activities of the university in a newly created position. She is currently assistant provost and dean of the College of Pharmacy, having joined the Harding faculty in 2006.
