1 min read

Matt Campbell’s legal woes are continuing.

Campbell, the licensed attorney who made headlines as a Little Rock blogger exposing official wrongdoing, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation on Jan. 8.

Campbell, who now reports for the Arkansas Times, listed his total debts at $414,840.

A large portion of the debt was for student loans taken out in 2006 and 2007 and totaled $175,865, according to his filing.

He also owes $35,167 to the IRS for income taxes for years 2016 through 2022. And Campbell owes $19,471 to the Arkansas Department of Finance & Administration for income taxes for the years 2016 through 2022.

For two of Campbell’s pending malpractice lawsuits against him, the debts are listed as unknown.

Campbell and the Blue Hog Report blog built a reputation exposing the misdeeds of Arkansas elected officials over the years.

Campbell reported his gross income in 2024 was $50,216, but only $8,181 in 2023, according to the filing. In 2022, his gross income was $53,359.

Campbell’s assets were listed at $310,805, the bulk of that being his Little Rock home, valued at $302,000.

Neither Campbell nor his bankruptcy attorney, Kevin Keech of Little Rock, immediately returned messages for comment.
