John Culp, the president of Maverick USA in North Little Rock, was elected chairman of the Arkansas Trucking Association’s board of directors at its annual meeting Thursday at the Rogers Convention Center.
Culp will serve a two-year term and replaces Jeff Loggins, the president of Loggins Logistics in Jonesboro. Culp has been with Maverick since 1989 and joined the ATA’s board in 2017 when Maverick CEO Steve Williams stepped down to focus on his work with the Trucking Alliance.
Culp said his ascension won’t change the direction or goals of the ATA. Culp said he would just be sitting in a “different chair” at the board meetings.
“The goal is to keep doing the same thing we’ve been doing,” Culp said. “We are the advocates for the truckers of Arkansas. We have an incredible group on the board of directors.”
