The Arkansas Securities Department announced Friday that Campbell McLaurin has been named deputy commissioner, effective Aug. 2.

McLaurin joined the agency in 2011.

“Campbell is a proven leader and talented lawyer,” Commissioner Eric Munson said in a news release. “As associate general counsel and a supervisor in the Enforcement Division, he developed an impressive record of success on behalf of Arkansas victims and the State of Arkansas.

“I am so pleased that Campbell has agreed to take on this role working with all our talented staff at ASD, as we build on our achievements in the critical work of protecting investors, enhancing market integrity, and expanding our investor education efforts.”

McLaurin is an active member of the North American Securities Administrators Association, serving on the Enforcement Publications and Manuals Project Group.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law.
