
Three new members joined the board of directors at Methodist Family Health Foundation.

Laura Borg of Little Rock, Rev. Wayne Clark of Conway and Tara Wright of Fayetteville have joined the board of directors of Methodist Family Health Foundation of Little Rock, a 115-year-old nonprofit that provides psychiatric and behavioral health care to children and families in Arkansas.
Agriculture
Shannon Mirus was elected treasurer of Arkansas Women in Agriculture at its recent annual membership meeting. Other new members of the board are Tamara Walkingstick, northwest representative; Pam Billingsley, southwest representative; Jacki Whisnant, northeast representative; Brandy Johnson, southeast representative; and Donette Stump and Cecily Coffelt Bullard, members at large.
Griffin Golleher of Bryant has joined the Lonoke branch of AgHeritage Farm Credit Services as an agricultural lending officer. Golleher has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and he previously worked as an agent for Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co. of Arkansas.

Michele L. Kemp, owner and managing member of ACAS LLC of Little Rock, has been selected to receive the 2013 Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Mac Angel Discussion Leader of the Year Award. The award is presented each year to the continuing education course discussion leader who received the highest average evaluations in the previous year.
Engineering
Mike Fullerton of TME Inc. of Little Rock received five presidential awards of excellence at the recent Region VIII conference of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers. Fullerton, a past president of the Arkansas chapter of ASHRAE, was recognized with the High Honor Roll, Star with Special Citation, Sustainability Activities, Community Sustainability Award and Top 5 in Society honor. Ron McCarty, with Powers of Arkansas, received the Blue Ribbon Award for best membership promotion. Zac Buckmiller of TME Inc. was named Outstanding Student Activities Committee Chairman. Rick Sellers and Terry Jacks of Pettit & Pettit Consulting Engineers Inc. won the Regional Project Technology Award. Mark Mizell of TME Inc., current president of the Arkansas chapter, received the Golden Gavel recognizing the top chapter among the region’s 15 ASHRAE chapters.

George Wise of the Brad Hendricks Law Firm in Little Rock has been elected the 51st president of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association. Wise, born in Batesville and reared in Forrest City, earned his law degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1978. Other lawyers recently honored by ATLA are Thomas G. Buchanan of Little Rock, Outstanding Trial Lawyer; Matt Campbell of the Pinnacle Law Firm and Blue Hog Report in Little Rock, Citizen Merit Award; Joseph Gates of the Paul Byrd Law Firm of Little Rock, Outstanding Member of the New Lawyer Division; Gary Eubanks of Gary Holt & Associates of Little Rock, Henry Woods Lifetime Achievement Award; and the late Sam Boyce of Newport, Roxanne Wilson Advocacy Award.
Education
Annette Hux has been appointed chair for the School of Teacher Education & Leadership in the College of Education & Behavioral Science at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Hux worked in southern Missouri schools as a teacher, principal and superintendent before joining A-State in 2011. She served as interim chair during the 2013-14 academic year.
Bill Wagnon has been hired as marketing and communications director for the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, effective June 2. Wagnon comes to UAFS from the University of West Alabama at Livingston, where he has been dean of admissions and enrollment management since July and previously worked as the director of marketing and communications for online programs.
Mike James will assume the position of dean of the Honors College at Harding University in Searcy effective Jan. 1, 2015. James replaces Warren Casey, who will focus his attention on serving as dean of the College of Arts & Humanities. James, formerly dean of Harding’s College of Communication, has served as on-site director of the Harding University in Greece program since 2010.
Terri L. Bonebright has been named executive vice president of academic affairs and provost of Hendrix College at Conway. Chosen after a national search, Bonebright has been dean of faculty and professor of psychology at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. She will succeed Robert L. Entzminger, who is retiring after 12 years as Hendrix’s chief academic officer.
