MetroPCS Customers Offered PrivacyStar

First Orion Corp. of Conway, which makes the PrivacyStar call- and text-blocking app for BlackBerry and Android phones, has launched a version of the service for customers of MetroPCS Communications Inc. of Dallas, the fifth-largest facilities-based wireless carrier in the country.

Called Metro Block-it, the application allows users to block unwanted calls and text messages from individual numbers and all private and unknown numbers.

The app also allows customers to directly file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission against telemarketers and debt collectors who might have violated the Do Not Call Registry and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
