1 min read

Winrock International of North Little Rock on Tuesday announced that Michaela Edwards has been appointed to its board of directors.

Edwards of Brooklyn, New York, is a partner at Capricorn Investment Group LLC of Palo Alto, California. The firm is part of the Jeff Skoll Group, which manages the investment portfolio of Canadian engineer and billionaire internet entrepreneur Jeff Skoll, the Skoll Foundation and other institutional clients.

“Michaela is an excellent addition to the board and to the Winrock team,” Winrock President & CEO Rodney Ferguson said in a news release. “She is passionate about using capital markets to address global challenges including climate change and economic inequities, and has supported the launch of a dozen new impact investment strategies.”

Before joining Capricorn in 2019, Edwards spent nine years as a senior portfolio manager with Norges Bank Investment Management, the sovereign wealth fund of Norway, where she sourced, constructed and managed a $2 billion global environmental portfolio, the release says.

She has also worked as a research analyst for Russell Investments in London and New York.

Edwards, who grew up in Norway, holds a master’s in investment management from Cass Business School in London and a bachelor’s in international business from Oslo University College.

“Winrock works to empower the disadvantaged, increase economic opportunity and sustain natural resources,” Edwards said in the release. “I am thrilled to join the board of Winrock International to support that mission.”
