Mimi San Pedro, chief strategy officer of The Venture Center, will retire on Friday after more than five years with the Little Rock nonprofit.

She will continue in a senior advisory role through December in hopes to ensure a smooth transition, The Venture Center said in a news release.

San Pedro joined The Venture Center in 2019 with more than 30 years of experience in strategic marketing and business development, holding senior roles at companies like Acxiom, Stone Ward and ContourMed. During her tenure, San Pedro designed and implemented strategies that expanded The Venture Center’s impact on Arkansas entrepreneurship and strengthened relationships with corporate partners and community stakeholders.

“Mimi’s unique blend of strategic execution with a personal touch has provided great leadership for The Venture Center,” Arthur Orduña, executive director of The Venture Center, said in the release. “Her influence is woven into the fabric of our success, and we congratulate her on a remarkable career.”

San Pedro’s tenure at The Venture Center has been marked with achievements, including expanding the organization’s reach in the national fintech space and enhancing minority programming and mentorship opportunities for Arkansas entrepreneurs.

“As someone who has been with The Venture Center since its inception, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing Mimi’s profound impact on our mission of fueling education, collaboration and acceleration,” James Hendren, board chair of The Venture Center, said in the release. “Mimi’s leadership has elevated our efforts while fostering a spirit of possibility throughout our community. We are deeply grateful for her contributions and celebrate the legacy she leaves behind.”

San Pedro said in the release that she looks forward to the next chapter, but will remain focused on ensuring The Venture Center’s success until her departure.
