Molex of Lisle, Illinois, announced last week the opening of a new design center in Conway that will employ more than 100 engineering and technical workers supporting demand for the company’s high-speed technology products used in data centers, cloud computing and 5G hardware applications.
“We’re excited to continue our investment in the area and provide a new, modern workspace that will give Molex greater capability and benefit our talented employees,” Chad Jameson, Molex’s general manager of IO solutions, said in a news release.
The company said that the center, previously in Maumelle, will serve as a “primary innovation hub,” focusing on new product design, high-speed technology development and prototyping.
Molex is a subsidiary of Koch Industries, which purchased the company for $7.2 billion in 2013. Molex said it will continue to operate a manufacturing facility in Maumelle.
“We extend an enthusiastic thank you to Molex for choosing Conway,” Brad Lacy, president and CEO of the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, said. “It’s the highest compliment a city can receive.”
