Montrose Buys Delaware Environmental Firm

2 min read

Montrose Environmental Group Inc. (NYSE: MEG) of North Little Rock on Friday announced the purchase of Environmental Alliances Inc. of Wilmington, Delaware, the latest in a string of acquisitions over the past year.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Environmental Alliances, founded in 1991, is an environmental engineering and consulting firm with public and private sector clients. It offers remediation services to industries in real estate, brownfield developers, oil and gas, and more. The company has offices in Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia.

Environmental Alliances’ senior team, including Vice Presidents Paul Miller, Joseph Rossi and Michael Vanderslice, will join Montrose’s environmental consulting & engineering division, Montrose said in a news release.

Sean Rome, head of the division, said the acquisition “increases our scale and ability to serve clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic.” He said Environmental Alliances brings experience in major cleanup strategies, including risk assessment and site permitting, brownfield assessment and investigation, and turnkey remediation.

Montrose, which moved its headquarters to Arkansas in 2021, now has more than 2,500 employees across over 75 locations.

The purchase of Environmental Alliances is Montrose’s fifth acquisition in the past year.

Last month, it announced the purchase of Frontier Analytical Laboratories of El Dorado Hills, California, a firm that specializes in analysis of persistent organic pollutants, also known as “forever chemicals.” Other companies it recently acquired include Huco Consulting Inc. of Houston, a privately held environment consulting firm; California-based AirKinetics, which offers emissions testing services to industry and government customers; and TriAD Environmental Consultants, a small environmental consulting firm with a focus on the Southeast U.S.
