Remember Salmon Cos., the North Little Rock mail carrier that was bought in 2019 by competitor 10 Roads LLC, one of the many businesses owned by trucking magnate Wayne Hoovestol?

Well, Hoovestol wasn’t done buying Salmon assets. He spent $615,000 on a 8,400-SF warehouse-office building on South Lake City Road in Fayetteville, which is conveniently located next to a U.S. Postal Service facility.

Hoovestol purchased the property through his Fleetpark City Lake AR LLC of Carter Lake, Iowa. Hoovestol has other trucking businesses in Carter Lake.

The seller of the warehouse-office was Cross Street Services Inc., led by Don Salmon. Salmon is the son of Pat Salmon, the founder of Salmon Cos., which includes Pat Salmon & Sons Inc. and Mail Contractors of America Inc.

Salmon Cos. was one of the state’s largest private companies before being acquired by Hoovestol. Husch Blackwell analysts reported that Salmon had $341.1 million in revenue from the Postal Service in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2019.
