Architecture
John Coleman has joined the team at Viridian, a sustainable building consulting firm in Little Rock, as the director of the company’s northwest Arkansas office. Coleman will serve as a liaison between the Fayetteville and Little Rock offices and will act as project manager throughout northwest Arkansas.

Education
Judith Tavano, professional development program coordinator at the University of Arkansas Global Campus, has been awarded the 2011 Pillar Award by the Northwest Arkansas Human Resources Association. Tavano received the award because of her professional mentoring and her status as an expert in continuing education.

Government
Kathy Manis Findley of Little Rock received the 2011 Director’s Community Leadership Award from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Little Rock Field Office for her work with abused women and children. Findley is the founder of Safe Places: The Center for Healing & Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting victims of violence and violence prevention education.

Holly Sutton, director of tax at Golden Living in Fort Smith, has been appointed to the Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee by the Internal Revenue Service. She is one of five new members of the 22-member committee, which represents taxpayers, professionals, business and state tax administrators and payroll providers.

Bob Wright, director of the Streets & Traffic Control Department of the city of Fort Smith, has announced he will retire in March. Wright has been in his position with the city for 27 years, after working 18 years for a local engineering firm.

Health Care
Terry Hill has been promoted to associate medical director of ARcare of Augusta, where she has served as the chief clinical officer for the past decade. Paula Veazey will take over Hill’s previous position. Veazey previously worked for Intrepid Health Services, which has multiple locations in Arkansas.

Dr. Sunder Krishnan of Little Rock has been awarded the 2011 Patients’ Choice Award by PatientsChoice.org. The award is based on patient scores and other quality measures, and only 5 percent of the nation’s 720,000 active physicians were honored last year.

Nonprofit
JoBeth McElhanon of Little Rock has joined the Centers for Youth & Families as director of business development. McElhanon previously was director of marketing at the Arkansas Respiratory Health Association.

Real Estate
Harold Crye, co-founder and CEO of Crye-Leike Realtors of Memphis, which has multiple offices in Arkansas, has been named one of the 100 most influential real estate leaders of 2011 by Inman News. This is the second time Crye has received the honor. The list is made up of "leaders, experts and visionaries who influence the real estate industry with their words, insights and innovations.
