#MySearcy Master Plan

3 min read

Searcy citizens recently approved two bond measures that will allow the city to move forward with implementing the #MySearcy Master Plan. These measures pave the way for transformative projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all residents.

“It underscores our community’s shared vision and commitment to building a vibrant, inclusive and thriving city for generations to come,” said Searcy Mayor Mat Faulkner.

The approved bond measures will finance several projects outlined in the #MySearcy Master Plan including:

Community Center
A long-awaited Community Center featuring state-of-the-art amenities such as sports courts, an indoor walking trail, multiuse community rooms and outdoor trails.

Outdoor Water Park
Plans include the development of an Outdoor Water Park adjacent to the existing Swim Center, complete with features like zero-entry pools, tower slides and a lazy river.

Searcy residents spoke loud and clear in support of over $93 million in construction projects in the master plan. A centerpiece is a $51 million community center. (Provided)

Sports Complex Updates
Enhancements to the Sports Complex will see the construction of additional fields, improvements to existing facilities and upgrades to address drainage issues, to meet the needs of local sports teams and tournaments.

Running/Biking Trails
A comprehensive trail network will connect Riverside Park and the Community Center with paved trails.

Riverside Park
Plans include extensive upgrades, such as new mountain bike trails, a kids’ pump track, enhanced park entrances, as well as lighting and safety features, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for all.

Berryhill Park
Amenities at Berryhill Park include a destination playground, splash pad and food truck court.

“The approval of these measures signifies a collective investment in our city’s future,” City Planner Richard Stafford said. “Through extensive community engagement and input, we’ve identified key priorities that align with the aspirations and needs of our residents.”
