1 min read

The National Waterways Conference will take place in Little Rock next year.

The annual conference draws about 250 attendees interested in waterways issues including navigation, levy safety and water resources.

The conference is scheduled for Sept. 16-18, 2015, at the Little Rock Marriott. It will be the 55th annual meeting of the organization.

“Bringing this conference to Arkansas has been a priority for the Arkansas Waterways Commission since I joined as Executive Director in 2012,” Gene Higginbotham, executive director of the Arkansas Waterways Commission, said in a news release. “Arkansas is third in the nation for inland waterways miles and this conference gives us a chance to showcase all of our state’s waterways. Little Rock will be a great host city.”

Members of the National Waterways Conference include flood control associations, levee boards, waterways shippers and carriers, industry and regional associations, port authorities, shipyards, dredging contractors, regional water districts, engineering consultants, and state and local governments.
