Whispers has an update from Little Rock restaurateur Tommy Keet on a few of the restaurants planned for Breckenridge Village in Little Rock.

If you’ll recall, KBK-Breck LLC, a group led by the Keet family, partnered with Hank Kelley, CEO of Kelley Commercial Partners of Little Rock, to buy the retail center at 10301 N. Rodney Parham Road in 2022 with a vision of making the shopping center a restaurant and entertainment destination.

Of course, the March 31, 2023, tornado delayed the redevelopment of Breckenridge, but progress is being made. “It does not look like a war zone anymore,” Keet said. “It looks awesome.”

► Keet expects Waldo’s Chicken & Beer to open in two to three weeks depending on the hiring and training of staff. At 6,000 SF, it will be the biggest Waldo’s and will feature a gaming area, including a pool table, Ping-Pong table, shuffleboard, Golden Tee machine, darts and a pinball machine. “We just felt like we had some room to bring in a different dynamic,” he said.

► Keet says the 5,000-SF DeLuca’s Pizzeria should open in September. “It’s going to be a beautiful site.”

► As for the 6,000-SF Flyway Taproom, Keet hopes that it will open before the end of this year.
