Batesville’s Citizens Bank is wading deeper into the Little Rock market with a second full-service branch. The $921 million-asset lender is establishing an office in the former One Bank & Trust location at 8000 Cantrell Road.
The leased property, now undergoing renovation, will be the first traditional branch in Little Rock for Citizens.
The bank’s fledgling Little Rock operation is on the third floor of the Euronet Building at 17300 Chenal Parkway. Opened in 2018, the office is home to about $25 million in deposits with a loan portfolio of about $75 million.
For now, the Cantrell-office-in-development represents full-service branch No. 20 for Citizens. But the count will settle at 19 when two existing Monticello branches are consolidated into a single new one.
Regarding future branching activity, Citizens has its eye on the Little Rock-North Little Rock market along with Benton-Bryant.
“Our plan for the next couple years is to focus on central Arkansas,” said Phil Baldwin, CEO of Citizens Bank.
