New ‘Pop-Up Store’ Offers Lawyer-Designed Skirt

2 min read

After years of shopping for sophisticated professional at-tire, lawyer Nancy A. Martin of Bentonville has taken to fashion design in an attempt to provide a quality alternative to high-priced designer wear.

Through her retail company, N.A. Martin LLC, Martin will debut a line of pencil skirts she designed and manufactured in New York at a pop-up store in the Thomas Merritt Gallery at 124

Midtown Shopping Center in Bentonville beginning Oct. 4.

“The fabric and the fit are key with my line,” Martin said of the knit skirt.

“I have started with one product, a well-made skirt that can be worn year-round, a simple yet sophisticated fit that hugs the body and flatters all body types, young and old.”

The skirt, priced at $198, is available in sizes 00-14 in black, garnet red and chocolate brown.

“People tell me it is so comfortable that they have a hard time taking it off,” Martin said.

The pop-up store will occupy the 600-SF space at the gallery for one month, but Martin is still considering whether she wants to open a permanent retail store, continue doing pop-up locations or have trunk shows in stores and private homes.

“I’m not quite sure where it’s going to end up, but it’s a great product,” Martin said. “The women that have tried it on have loved it.”

The temporary store will open with special hours of 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Oct. 4. But regular business hours will be 4-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday or by appointment until Nov. 3.
