Good Springs Capital LP of New York announced that entities managed by the private investment firm have completed an investment in specialty contractor Kimbel Mechanical Systems Inc. of Fayetteville.

CEO Rob Kimbel will continue to lead the company and the Kimbel family will retain a “significant” ownership stake, Good Springs said in a news release.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Kimbel has more than 650 employees and operates in 11 states throughout the South, Midwest, and Mountain West regions of the U.S. The company’s customer base includes single-family homebuilders and multi-family residential project developers. It also provides a tri-service offering with plumbing, HVAC and electrical installation services.

The company was founded in 1984 by Miles Kimbel, the father of its current CEO.

“Kimbel has an impressive history of organic growth and is one of the largest companies in its field,” David Van Geyzel, managing partner of Good Springs, said in the release. “The Company exemplifies what Good Springs seeks in potential investments: an established business led by an experienced, driven, and talented management team operating in a large, essential market.”

Rob Kimbel said the deal with Good Springs is expected to help the contractor pursue its next stage of growth and expansion.

“Their experience, values, capital, and model of working with entrepreneurial companies such as ours should allow us to pursue our objectives of maintaining our unique culture, providing high quality service to our customers, accelerating growth, and expanding future opportunities for our team,” he said.
