Fayetteville is getting its first Newk’s Eatery.
The restaurant, founded in 2004 in Oxford, Mississippi by the same people who started McAlister’s Deli, is slated to open Nov. 17 at 637 E. Joyce Blvd. in the Spring Creek Center.
Newk’s features salads, sandwiches, pizza and soups.
“Our fast-casual concept and wide variety of menu items will be a great fit for the ever-growing market in this area,” Jim Lynch, Newk’s franchisee, said in a news release. “We hope to have an additional location underway soon.”
Lynch is looking for possible sites in Bentonville and Rogers for a second location. Newk’s has 71 locations with plans for 200 total by the end of 2015.
The Fayetteville location will include ample parking, a to-go counter and catering services.
Alan W. Cole, a principal at Colliers International in Bentonville, said the firm sought a location for Newk’s that was “convenient to the entire market.”
Newk’s opened its second Little Rock metro area location at Park Avenue in April. Since opening its doors, the restaurant has done $496,336 in sales. The North Little Rock location at 4317 Warden Road did $1.4 million in sales last year.
