1 min read

Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville will start a truck driving and training program later this fall after receiving a $288,700 grant from the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.

The college’s workforce and economic development division received the Regional Workforce grant.

The CDL program will offer 40 hours of classroom instruction beginning in the fall, and on-road training and 160 hours of classroom instruction in the spring. Students can obtain Class A, B or C licenses.

“This technology improvement grant will allow NWACC to support local and regional efforts in attracting and retaining qualified drivers across various industries requiring a commercial delivery license,” said Evetta Aldridge, NWACC’s director of training & community development.

“Our phased rollout of this program will enhance supply chain efforts as we partner with stakeholders to promote collaboration despite market competition. NWACC is committed to being a premiere provider of transportation and supply chain education, and we encourage businesses to support our efforts and job seekers to contact us to learn more.”
