The new Grit Studios Entrepreneur Center in Bentonville will host the Northwest Arkansas Tech Council’s August meeting from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.
The center is located on the second floor of the historic Massey Building at 125 W. Central Ave.
Dinesh Verma, Ph.D., will speak about creating a strategy and enterprise architecture as the council continues to investigate becoming a “Smart Community.”
Verma is executive director of the Systems Engineering Research Center, the first University Affiliated Research Center established by the Department of Defense.
He is also a professor in systems engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, and scientific advisor to the director of the Embedded Systems Institute in Eindhoven, Holland.
Before this role, he served as the first dean of the School of Systems & Enterprises at Stevens institute of Technology and as technical director at Lockheed Martin Undersea Systems in Manassas, Virginia.
Before joining Lockheed Martin, Verma worked as a research scientist at Virginia Tech and managed the university’s Systems Engineering Design Laboratory.
He also serves as a consultant to numerous companies, has authored more than 100 technical papers, and has co-authored two textbooks. Verma is also a member of several research organizations.
