An Olympic gold medalist is officially an Arkansas resident after he and his wife paid $1.25 million for a home in Springdale.

Brandon and Tina Slay bought a 5,136-SF home in the Buckingham Estates subdivision. The five-bed, five-bath home sits on 1 acre and has a host of amenities, including a saltwater pool and an outdoor kitchen (it also has one indoors).

Slay won the gold medal in the 167.5-pound class in freestyle wrestling at the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics. He was a two-time NCAA runner-up at the University of Pennsylvania.

Slay opened G1 Training Center in Springdale, a wrestling facility, and was also recently named executive director of SportsLife Wrestling, a division of SportsLife Leadership. Slay was previously the executive director of the Pennsylvania Regional Training Center at UPenn.

Legacy National Bank in Springdale provided a loan of $1.25 million.

The seller of the home was the Kim Bowen & Jennifer Tucker Trust. Kim Bowen acquired the property for $445,000 in 2014.
