Opening of $3.5M Hampton Inn Set For Magnolia

1 min read

A 68-room Hampton Inn, in construction since spring, will open for business in Magnolia next week.

According to the hotel’s Facebook page, the $3.5 million Hampton is scheduled to open Jan. 15. It is being built by Shinn Enterprises of Hot Springs and is located on Highway 79 close to Magnolia’s downtown district and Southern Arkansas University. The hotel also features a 390-SF meeting room.

Cammie Hambrice, the town’s executive director of economic development, said the hotel helps fulfill a longtime hospitality need, partially from gas exploration and partly from a new arena at SAU.

“We’ve really needed a hotel for probably three years,” she said. “We’ve had a lot of people here for oil and gas because of the Smackover Brown Dense. Our hotels are full at night.”
