Organ Transplant Surgeon Giorgakis Joins UAMS (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. Emmanouil Giorgakis of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences

Dr. Emmanouil Giorgakis has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock as a liver, kidney and pancreas transplant surgeon and as an assistant professor in the College of Medicine’s Department of Surgery.

Giorgakis received his medical degree from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He has studied at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York and London, and has received fellowship training at King’s College Hospital in London and the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix. Giorgakis will perform liver, kidney and pancreas transplants, as well as hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery.

Dr. Premnath Chinnaiyan, has joined The Children’s Clinic in Batesville as a pediatrician.

Chinnaiyan attended Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai, India, before completing his residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo. He has more than five years of experience in general pediatrics, with a year in neonatal intensive care and three years of experience in pediatric intensive care. He is a previous member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health in the United Kingdom.

Pamela Bates has been hired to lead the medical team at Sherwood Urgent Care’s new location in Hot Springs. Bates, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, most recently worked at Baptist Health Urgent Care in Benton and previously spent more than 20 years as a registered nurse at Hot Springs Dialysis.

Dr. Nathan Littlejohn has joined the CHI St. Vincent Urology Clinic in Hot Springs. Littlejohn, a urologist, graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Medical School in Memphis and completed his residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Dr. Clark Trapp is the newest primary care physician at CHI St. Vincent Primary Care in Morrilton. Trapp completed both medical school and his residency training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
