PA Receives $2M to Endow Financial Aid from Malone Foundation

1 min read

Pulaski Academy has received a $2 million endowment to provide financial assistance for students in grades 7-12, the school announced Thursday.

PA is an independent college preparatory school for boys and girls in preschool through high school. It was founded in 1971.

The Malone Foundation, founded in 1997, aims to improve access to quality education and currently supports 50 Malone Scholar schools in 43 states.

PA has received annual assistance from the foundation since 2011 and going forward, that support will be permanent. Currently, eight PA students receive support through the foundation.

According to school officials, independent secondary schools such as PA are selected by the foundation on the basis of academic caliber; quality of staff; accommodations for gifted and talented students; attention to students’ needs, interests and talents; financial strength and stability; a commitment to financial aid; and an economically, culturally, ethnically and socially diverse population.

“We are most grateful to the Malone Family Foundation for this extraordinary endowment and to our trustees, administration, faculty, and families as we worked together as a community to demonstrate to the Malone Family Foundation that we were worthy of a permanent partnership,” said Matt Walsh, president and head of school at PA, in a news release.
