Peacock Group Hires KATV’s Katelyn Deckelbaum

1 min read

Longtime KATV news producer Katelyn Deckelbaum has joined the Peacock Group of Little Rock as a senior public relations executive, focusing on strategic storytelling for clients across all media.

Deckelbaum spent nine years at Channel 7, Little Rock’s ABC affiliate, most recently as executive producer. As a top manager of the Sinclair-owned station, she oversaw nightly newscasts, day-to-day operations, content and copywriting, as well a script approval.

A Birmingham-raised University of Alabama graduate, she contributed to KATV’s website and social media efforts, and won a regional Emmy Award as senior producer of “Arkansas Growing: The Journey From Legalization to Cultivation.” The program was an hourlong documentary on medical cannabis in Arkansas.

Denver Peacock, her new firm’s founder and principal, said in a news release that Deckelbaum’s “specialized experience in broadcast news” will make her invaluable in getting clients’ stories across. He also praised her “immense understanding of the regional media landscape.”
