Pharmacy Association Recoginizes UAMS’ Caldwell (Movers & Shakers)

David Caldwell has been selected by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy for the Academic Leadership Fellows Program. Caldwell was one of 24 college faculty members nationwide chosen for the program. The Academic Leadership Fellows Program supports the development of leaders in academic pharmacy and higher education.

Caldwell is the associate dean of academic affairs at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He is also an associate professor at the college’s Department of Pharmacy Practice.

Caldwell previously served as director of assessment and faculty development at the college. From 2014-17, he was an associate professor of clinical sciences and director of professional affairs at the University of Louisiana-Monroe School of Pharmacy.

Caldwell completed his residency in ambulatory care and academia at the ULM School of Pharmacy, where he also earned his doctorate in pharmacy.

Dr. Dirk Haselow of Baptist Health in Little Rock and Lacey Kennon of Baptist Health Orthopedics in Fort Smith ()

Dr. Dirk Haselow has been hired as an epidemiologist and associate medical director for infection prevention at Baptist Health in Little Rock. Haselow is a board-certified pediatrician in Little Rock who has served as the state epidemiologist at the Arkansas Department of Health for nearly 10 years. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and his doctorate in epidemiology from the University of Maryland. He completed residency training in pediatrics at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Lacey Kennon, an advanced practice registered nurse, has joined Baptist Health Orthopedics in Fort Smith as a nurse practitioner. Kennon has 12 years of experience in the nursing field, previously serving as an emergency room nurse and flight nurse. Her most recent position was at Baptist Health as an administrative nursing supervisor. Kennon recently graduated with a master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama after earning her associate and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.

Jessica Strack of Conway Regional Health System ()

Jessica Strack has joined Conway Regional Health System as a physician assistant. Strack earned her master’s in physician assistant studies from Harding University at Searcy. She has served as a health care provider in central Arkansas for the last 11 years.

Jesse Abeler

Dr. Jesse D. Abeler has been hired as an orthopedic surgeon at Bowen Hefley Orthopedics in Little Rock.

Abeler earned a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree and completed a hand fellowship.

His areas of focus include shoulder, elbow, hand and sports injuries.


Dr. Kevin M. Goodson has been hired as a surgeon at Martin Orthopedics in Little Rock.

Goodson specializes in the treatment of injuries to the foot and ankle. His work has been published in the Journal of Arthroplasty and the Journal of Pain Management.

Goodson graduated summa cum laude from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and received his medical degree from LSU’s School of Medicine at the Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He then completed a surgical internship and orthopedic residency at UAMS in Little Rock, followed by a foot and ankle fellowship at Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa.
