Philamlee, Burkett Practicing at Conway Regional (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. Whitney Philamlee and Dr. Ben Burkett have joined the medical staff of Conway Regional Health System.

Philamlee received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she completed her residency in medicine and pediatrics.

Burkett previously practiced medicine at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed his residency in medicine and pediatrics at the University of Mississippi.


Dr. Brian McGee has joined Arkansas Diagnostic Center in Little Rock.

McGee is a board-certified gastroenterologist and has been practicing medicine for 14 years. He received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology.


Katie Lea has been hired as chief nursing officer at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton.

Lea has more than 25 years of nursing experience, most recently at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where she was vice president of emergency and surgery services. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing at Arkansas State University and a master’s in health care administration from Canyon College.


Dr. Stephan Dehmel has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock as a gastroenterologist and assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine in the UAMS College of Medicine.

Dehmel comes to UAMS with 20 years of experience as a physician and educator in the United Kingdom and Germany. He earned his medical degree from the University of Leipzig School of Medicine in Germany and completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hepato-gastroenterology at the city hospital in Karlsruhe, Germany.


Kim Leverett and Chris Dent have been appointed to the board of directors of Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.

Leverett is a pharmacist and a health care provider for the American Heart Association as well as a licensed member of the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy. She holds certificates from the National Exercise Trainers Association and the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Dent is a health care executive with more than 40 years of administrative and management experience in hospital settings. Now retired, she worked with Arkansas Heart Hospital, CLD Consulting, Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Conway Regional Medical Center and DeWitt Hospital. Dent served on the Arkansas Breast Cancer Control Advisory Board and the Practice Committee of the Arkansas State Board of Nursing for more than 12 years.
