Indoor pickleball company Pickleball Kingdom of Chandler, Arizona, has announced plans to open a facility in Little Rock.
The facility will feature climate-controlled courts with outdoor surfaces, professional coaching and clinics for all skill levels, youth programs, and leagues and tournaments, the company said in a news release.
An address for the facility and an opening date have not been announced.
Pickleball Kingdom bills itself as the world’s largest indoor pickleball entity, with 350 franchises awarded and more than 5,250 courts.
“We’re excited to bring Pickleball Kingdom to Arkansas,” Ace Rodrigues, the company’s founder and CEO, said in the release. “This expansion represents our ongoing commitment to providing world-class facilities and fostering vibrant communities centered around the sport of pickleball. And there’s no better place in Arkansas for us to plant our flag than in Little Rock.”
Pickleball grew in 2023 to 13.6 million players in the U.S., according to the 2024 Sports & Fitness Industry Association Topline Participation Report. Participation in the sport has grown 223.5% since 2020.
