Did you know a new gastroenterology clinic is planning on opening in Little Rock this summer?
Pinnacle Gastroenterology is expected to have several physicians at the clinic at 409 N. University Ave. The office, which had been a gastroenterology practice previously, is being prepared for the opening.
The new clinic should be a welcome relief for GI patients. You may remember that the medical license of Dr. Alonzo Williams, a gastroenterologist, was revoked in August, and his Arkansas Diagnostic Center of Little Rock has since closed.
Former patients of ADC recently received letters saying that their medical records were being stored at Pinnacle Gastroenterology. But patients shouldn’t read into that that there is some connection between Pinnacle Gastroenterology and Williams.
“Pinnacle Gastroenterology has absolutely no business or other type of relationship or connection to Dr. Williams or his formal practice,” a company spokesman told Whispers.
It turns out that Williams arranged with one of the owners of Pinnacle to become the custodian of his patients’ records as a result of the dissolution of Arkansas Diagnostic Center.
“We really want to make it perfectly clear, there’s no business, medical, emotional, relational, business or otherwise with Dr. Williams,” the spokesman said.
Pinnacle Gastroenterology said its focus will be on the patient experience, “and as part of that, we anticipate a shortened wait time for new patients to come in for care,” the spokesman said.
