Population Change By Arkansas County

This map shows the percentage change in each of Arkansas’ 75 counties from July 1, 2023, to July 1, 2024.

Forty of the 75 counties gained population during that period, with Benton County (3% gain) the fastest growing. It was followed by Washington County at 1.6% and Conway and Craighead counties at 1.4%.

Meanwhile, 34 counties lost population, most of them in the Delta and Southwest regions of the state. (The map shows no percentage change in population in five counties because the change was not statistically significant, but only one county, Van Buren, actually experienced no numerical change in population.)
