Emily Moore has been named dean of the College of Education & Social & Behavioral Sciences at John Brown University of Siloam Springs.

Ginger Gummelt has been hired as the dean of the College of Business, Health & Human Services at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Gummelt most recently served as chair of the Department of Sociology, Social Work & Criminal Justice at Lamar University of Beaumont, Texas.

J. Scott Cordova has been hired as an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.

Paul Thibado, a professor of physics at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, has been named to the 2025 class of senior fellows at the National Academy of Inventors of Tampa, Florida. Thibado, who has been with the university since 1996, has submitted 17 invention disclosures and received seven patents in his career, six of which have been licensed.

Autumn Hamit Patterson has been hired as the solicitor general in the Office of the Attorney General of Arkansas in Little Rock.

Samantha Sanders, a U.S. Department of Agriculture analyst with Stone Bank, has been appointed chairman of the central regional board of directors of Junior Achievement of Arkansas of Little Rock. Other new appointments are Kelly Suen, senior private banker at Arvest Bank, as vice chairman; and Russ Martin, executive vice president and chief credit officer at Relyance Bank, as treasurer.

David Hillis, plant operator at the Roger Q. Mills Water Treatment Plant, is retiring from Conway Corp. Hillis began his career at Conway Corp. in June 2000.

Felek Abbas has been named senior vice president, chief technology and security officer at Southwest Power Pool of Little Rock. The new position combines Abbas’ duties as chief security officer with new duties overseeing information technology and corporate facilities.
