Prime-Line Inc. of Malvern said Friday that it will build a new manufacturing facility, spending $6.7 million and adding 50 jobs.
The 17-year-old company makes medium- and light-density fiberboard moulding and millwork for nationwide distributors. Its products are sold in retail outlets including Lowe’s.
The company said the expansion will give it the ability to produce more than 2 million lineal feet of primed moulding per week. Gov. Mike Beebe, who attended the expansion announcement in Malvern, said the expansion will boost the company’s employment to nearly 100 people.
“We are extremely excited about the new manufacturing line and facility,” Brian Feeney, president and CEO of Prime-Line, said in a news release. “For the past 18 months we have had to turn away business as we had sold all of our previous capacity during this time. This project will allow us to say ‘yes’ again to our customers and sales team.
“As a business owner, the most frustrating thing is having to turn away business knowing it is right there for the taking. It’s very exciting to open our doors for new business again.”
Prime-Line’s new manufacturing plant will be at 2088 Wine Dot Road in Malvern. The company was previously located in the Jones Mill Industrial Park in Hot Spring County.
Prime-Line has 46 workers. The company made the Inc. 5000 List twice in the past five years.
