The Arkansas Psychiatric Clinic is building a 16,000-SF office in Little Rock in a project worth $2.2 million.
Dr. Brad Diner, the managing partner at APC, told Arkansas Business last week that the clinic had outgrown its nearly 6,500-SF office in Little Rock, which was built in 2002.
He said the new office building would sit on 2.5 acres and should be open by the end of the year.
The clinic has seven psychiatrists and three social workers. In addition to therapy, it offers drug and alcohol treatment, forensic evaluations and clinical trials for drug companies.
Diner said that the clinic planned to add at least one psychiatrist in the next year.
He said the practice, which was founded in 1969, treats about 10,000 patients a year.
The clinic has been growing over the years because of the need for psychiatric services, he said.
"And there still aren’t nearly enough health providers out there, and there’s such a large group of patients," Diner said. "And unfortunately … these people have fairly serious diseases and need treatment."
