The launch and demonstration of a new laser technology by Power Technology Inc. of Alexander at the Ron Robinson Theater last month is expected to play an important role in the company’s future growth, one of its executives said in an interview.
Walter Burgess, vice president for sales and engineering, said the demonstration was one of several the company has planned to market its new product, a laser used in projectors that is expected to result in cost savings of $10,000 per year compared with traditional light sources. The company was planning to appear at trade shows this month and will demonstrate the technology in outdoor displays during the Little Rock Film Festival in May.
PTI expects to hire 30 people in the next four years and for the sale of such lasers to take on a larger role in the company’s sales, Burgess said.
