By the end of this week, Dan Bakke’s 15-year tenure as president of Pulaski Technical College in Little Rock will be over.
Bakke announced his retirement in March.
Tim Jones, director of public relations and marketing for Tech, said the college’s search committee has interviewed six candidates and will interview two of them again within a week.

Jones said the two are not necessarily finalists, as the committee isn’t refusing further submissions. He said an interim president hasn’t been named, so the committee is working on naming a new president in a "forthright manner."
"For 15 years, I have had the unbelievable opportunity to work with the board, faculty, staff, students and the great central Arkansas community," Bakke said in March. "I will always be indebted to all who supported me during this time."
During Bakke’s time at Tech, the college’s enrollment increased from 4,000 to 12,000 students and grew from four locations to seven. Bakke oversaw the expansion of Tech’s Business & Industry Center.
