Steve Purtee has been promoted from city accountant to financial director for the city of Jonesboro. He replaced Deanna Hornback, who moved out of state.
Purtee previously served as finance director for the city of Osceola, corporate treasurer at Big River Steel in Osceola, president and CEO of Northeast Arkansas Federal Credit Union and in other accounting and financial positions.
Houston Matthews, chief appraiser at Glaub Farm Management LLC in Jonesboro, recently obtained a certified general appraiser license, enabling him to appraise any type of property with no value limit.
Alex Avery has been hired as administrative specialist I for the nursing and allied health program at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas.
She previously worked at Mid-South Health Systems and Pocahontas Healthcare & Rehab.
Kevin Gee, director of hospitality services for Arkansas State University-Newport, was recently named Chef Educator of the Year by the American Culinary Federation Central Arkansas Association.
