Home BancShares Inc. of Conway, parent company of Centennial Bank, said Friday that Randy Sims, CEO and president of Home BancShares, has been named to vice chairman of Home BancShares and executive chairman of Centennial Bank.

In a news release, the publicly traded company (Nasdaq: HOMB) said Sims will replace Robert Adcock as Home BancShares’ vice chairman. Adcock remains vice chairman of Centennial.

“Centennial Bank is fortunate to have a strong bench with a lot of depth and experience,” John Allison, Home BancShares’ chairman, said in a news release. “Randy Sims has been with me and the Bank since day one. He knows the history of the Bank, our customers and our shareholders and has a great team to work with.”

In all, Sims will hold the positions of vice chairman, CEO and president of Home BancShares and executive chairman of Centennial. Tracy French remains CEO of Centennial Bank.

The company said Allison’s role at Home BancShares is unchanged.

“He will continue to advise the Bank and remain focused on holding company activities such as mergers and acquisitions, strategic alternatives and working with our investment community,” the company said.

“I have worked with Johnny for thirty-two years and he has been my mentor,” Sims said. “The fundamental principles that this company was built on are the principles that Johnny and I created to make this company a success. The Bank will continue down the path that we have already created.”

Home BancShares, a $15.1-billion asset lender, reported this week first quarter earnings of $71.4 million, a decline of 2.3 percent compared to a year ago.
