Go Ye Employment Services, based in Fort Smith, launched a redesigned WorkFortSmith job board website this month for employers to post job leads and listings. A “100 Jobs in 100 Days” campaign also began June 23.
WorkFortSmith, part of The Work Initiative, started in 2011 as a tool for workers displaced by the closure of Whirlpool’s Fort Smith plant. Employers can post listings that job seekers can view for free.
Miles Crawford, 26, of Fort Smith, CEO of Go Ye Employment Services, has worked at the employment agency since November 2006. His father, Gerald Crawford, owns the business.
Go Ye started in January 2000 while working with a local men’s shelter to find jobs for those needing employment.
The website at WorkFort-Smith.org launched June 15 to replace the existing job board on Go Ye’s website. Crawford said the enhanced job listing website provides more interactivity between employers and potential employees, including the addition of profiles.
Go Ye also posts job listings to social media on Facebook and Twitter.
In the next few years, Crawford sees himself remaining at the company and working to improve its effectiveness. “I’ve got a lot of interest and a lot of ideas,” he said. “I’m trying to get the excitement back out about our industry.”
Crawford also is working to rejuvenate the Arkansas chapter of the American Staffing Association, seeking to rebrand the statewide group.
