Independent jewelry liquidator Wilkerson of Stuttgart said Tuesday that Richard Hayes has been promoted to president, succeeding company founder Bobby Wilkerson.
The company announced the change last month at its annual conference. Bobby Wilkerson will remain with the company has chairman of the board.
Hayes, a Stuttgart native, joined Wilkerson in 1986 and has worked in management, marketing, promotions, trade shows and financials. The company said that as president, he will oversee Wilkerson’s national jewelry sale event service, its retail operations and merchandising.
Wilkerson bills itself as the nation’s largest national independent jewelry liquidators by volume. The company has more than 40 employees and more than 65 consultants nationwide. It has overseen more than 6,000 jewelry store sales over the past 48 years.
