Ritter Communications of Jonesboro is offering fiber internet service to certain areas of Fort Smith, the company announced Aug. 29.
The expansion of the company’s RightFiber brand into Fort Smith includes a $6.3 million infrastructure investment by Ritter. The company said the fiber-to-home service will bring multi-gigabit speed and connectivity built for the future to residents in some neighborhoods.
“Ritter Communications has proudly served the Fort Smith business community for over two years, providing fiber broadband, telecom, video, and data center services to meet the growing needs of businesses,” CEO Heath Simpson said in a statement. “This RightFiber expansion deepens our commitment to Fort Smith, connecting residential neighborhoods with advanced fiber internet with speeds up to 5 Gig.”
Ritter launched the RightFiber residential program in 2021, billing it as one of the fastest residential internet services, delivering five-gigabit internet, television and phone options to residents of Arkansas and west Tennessee.
Fort Smith Mayor George McGill said in a news release that Ritter’s investment brings “another great broadband option” to the city. “Broadband services like RightFiber can benefit community members of all ages by increasing access to needed services and information,” he said. “It’s exciting to see this expansion in Fort Smith.”
The company urged residents to check on the service’s availability in their neighborhoods. Ritter plans to reach out to people in initial construction areas with door tags, mail, yard signs and visits from sales team members.
