1 min read

Heath Simpson has been promoted to chief executive officer at Ritter Communications of Jonesboro. He joined the communications company as chief financial officer in 2020. “He has the strategic vision, experience, skill set, and focus to sustain our strong momentum and carry our performance to the next level,” Alan Morse, former CEO, said in a statement. “I am confident that, under his leadership, Ritter Communications will retain and enhance its position as a regional leader in the fiber broadband and telecom space.” Simpson’s hiring as a CFO followed a rigorous search for someone who could both serve in the position and be groomed to become CEO in the future. Following the succession plan, the company broadened Simpson’s responsibilities over the last four years. He became president and chief operating officer in late 2022, overseeing finance, information technology, project management, customer experience, field operations and human resources. “I am humbled by the opportunity to transition into the CEO role, and I am eager to leverage my skills and dedication for the collective success of Ritter Communications,” Simpson said.

Simpson has almost 30 years of financial and operational experience. He spent two decades at top telecommunications companies like AT&T and Frontier Communications. In addition, he has served as a fractional CFO and strategic adviser and as chief financial officer at Bacom Inc.

Simpson received his bachelor’s in business administration from Texas Christian University of Fort Worth in 1995. He received his master’s in business administration from the university in 2001.
